Covid-19 and fall 2020 class schedule

Posted by:

Dear students,

On the 6th of July, SEVIS has announced SEVP modified temporary exemptions for nonimmigrant students taking online courses during fall 2020 semester. Ever since then, many students called the school to ask regarding these modifications. We understand that a lot of students are worried and anxious. Because there are a lot of fake news and false statements from the media regarding these recent modifications, we want to deliver accurate information to minimize any panic or issues.

1.     Spring and Summer 2020 Online Classes

Back in March, SEVIS had announced that schools are allowed to adopt online class settings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Lordland College submitted a report to SEVIS regarding providing online lectures and classes to our students and has been providing the education our students deserve. Your legal status will not be affected or impacted in any ways because you had taken or are taking online courses for Spring and Summer 2020 semester.

2.     Fall 2020 Classroom setting

For Fall 2020 semester, Lordland College will adopt a hybrid model. Some classes will be conducted on-campus, and some classes will be provided online. Due to the new modifications, students cannot attend only online classes and remain in the United States. If you do not attend on-campus classes or follow with this procedure, your legal status will be terminated.

*For class information/schedule, please check Fall 2020 Class schedule*

3.     New I-20 will be issued

Before Fall semester (October 2020) begins, Lordland College will issue a new I-20 to all existing students and new students. On the new I-20 form, it will include that Lordland College’s program is not entirely online and the student is not taking an entirely online course load for Fall 2020 semester.

4.     Etc.
