Lordland College Bachelor of Theology

Bachelor of Theology is designed as a seminary-track curriculum with an emphasis on the study of the religious education. The studies in this degree are the foundations for those seeking to enter Christian schools to teach Bible. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well prepared to enter a theological seminary to pursue an educational program as a preparation for a career as an ordained minister. Graduates of Bachelor of Theology are able to serve in the Christian Community as Christian educators, missionary workers, youth ministers, Christian counselors, or Sunday school coordinators.

Standards of Student Achievement and Graduation Requirements

To graduate, a student must complete a minimum of 180 quarter units of the following coursework with a cumulative GPA average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Students must successfully complete the degree requirements within the allowed program length. Successful graduates of the program will be awarded a degree in Bachelor of Theology.

Biblical / Theological Study Courses (Requirement)

Our General Education curriculum is designed to build a strong academic foundation while nurturing critical thinking, communication, and a Christ-centered perspective. These courses introduce students to essential disciplines—including English, mathematics, social sciences, history, business, technology, and the humanities—equipping them with practical skills for both academic success and everyday life.

Through subjects such as psychology, sociology, global history, and philosophy, students gain a broader understanding of the world and diverse perspectives, while courses in religion and ethics encourage thoughtful reflection grounded in Christian values. This well-rounded program prepares students to engage confidently in their major studies and to serve effectively in their communities and future vocations.

Old Testament Studies

This series of Old Testament courses provides students with a solid foundation in the history, literature, and theology of the Hebrew Scriptures. Through the study of Israel’s kingdom, wisdom writings, and the messages of the prophets, students gain a deeper understanding of God’s covenant, character, and redemptive plan. The inclusion of Biblical Hebrew further enriches learning by enabling students to engage with the original language of the text, fostering a more accurate and meaningful interpretation of Scripture.

New Testament Studies

This New Testament course series introduces students to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the development of the early Church. The inclusion of New Testament Greek allows students to explore Scripture in its original language, enhancing their ability to interpret and apply biblical truths with clarity and depth.

Systematic Theology

This sequence of Systematic Theology courses provides a structured and comprehensive study of core Christian doctrines. Students explore key theological themes such as the nature of God, salvation, the Church, and last things, developing a clear and coherent understanding of biblical truth. Through careful study and reflection, this program equips students to articulate their faith with confidence and apply sound doctrine in both ministry and daily life.

Through studies in Christian education, spiritual formation, apologetics, and preaching, students develop essential skills for teaching, leadership, and discipleship. Courses such as Christianity in the marketplace also prepare students to integrate biblical principles into everyday work and life, empowering them to serve with purpose, integrity, and confidence in a variety of settings.

The inclusion of a ministry practicum provides hands-on opportunities to apply classroom learning in real-world settings, equipping students to lead, serve, and impact communities with confidence and a Christ-centered vision.
