This course examines the development of the Christian church from the late eighteenth century to the present day. Students will explore major theological movements, missionary expansion, denominational developments, global Christianity, and the challenges faced by the church in the modern world.

Special attention will be given to the relationship between Christianity and modern culture, including secularism, social change, and globalization.

This course aims to equip students as biblically-oriented evangelists, helping them to understand and apply biblical principles and methods of evangelistic outreach in their own contexts. Emphasis is placed on having an overall understanding of evangelization of one’s immediate context.

  • Elaborate on the biblical basis and principles for evangelism.

  • Utilize biblical passages to enhance in his/her personal evangelism.

  • Implicate the various methods/presentations of sharing one’s faith in Jesus Christ with others.
